Representing the Welser family, Thomas Welser receives Ernst & Young Special Award for Generations at a gala at the Hofburg Imperial Palace in Vienna.
The “EY Entrepreneur Of The Year” is one of the worlds most renowned awards for entrepreneurial excellence. The award programme covers 60 countries and recognises the best entrepreneurs around the globe. In addition, each year, outstanding performance is recognised with special awards. This year in Austria, a special “Award for Generations” was presented to Welser Profile, with three generations of the Welser family attending the event to receive the award.
“Looking back on more than three and a half centuries of entrepreneurship is a great privilege – and at the same time a mission. The generations before us made today’s success possible. We want to take this confidence and prepare the next generations for the future. For us the award is recognition of the continued responsibility and vision over the years. Our family is now in its eleventh generation managing Welser Profile, yet we still feel like every day is a new beginning as we remain open to new things and have the drive for enthusiasm, courage and responsibility. We think in generations, not quarters, and invest in people, technologies and sustainable solutions to actively shape the future,” says Thomas Welser.
EY has been presenting the Entrepreneur Of The YearTM Award in Austria since 2006. Over the last 20 years, the entrepreneur competition has become an annual fixture for the local business community. The expert jury’s assessment criteria includes growth, future potential, innovation, employee leadership and social responsibility.
