Floating PV system with Welser profiles

The largest floating PV system in Central Europe has been under construction in Grafenwörth since October. The steel frame used comes from our company.

With a size of 24 soccer fields, it is to provide 24.2 MWp of nominal power and thus supply 7,500 households with green electricity. The PV systems are mounted on small boats and a fallow area can be used in this way.

CEO Thomas Welser is particularly pleased to be involved in such a prestigious project in his own country: "Floating PV systems are relatively new on the market, but nevertheless we have already supplied systems with an output of more than 200 MWp with our profiles in the last 2 years and thus gained a lot of experience. The fact that the profiles float in water naturally places high demands on the corrosion resistance of our products. We have materials that are also optimal for such difficult conditions and have the know-how to precisely form these special grades."

22 million has been budgeted for the project, which is being built by ECOwind and EVN. Further Investments are planned in Lower Austria.
