Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

Objective & verified

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a standardized and externally verified document that provides neutral and objective information on the environmental impact of building materials, building products or building components.

This information is based on life cycle assessments and covers both the functional and technical properties of a product over its entire life cycle. As Type III environmental product declarations, EPDs offer a standardized presentation of this data based on the ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 standards.

Added value

They are an important basis for the sustainability assessment of buildings and provide comprehensive and detailed life cycle assessment data, including the product’s carbon footprint. They are publicly accessible and verified by independent third parties. EPDs therefore represent objectivity, transparency and credibility.

Which EPDs are available at Welser Profile?

We have externally verified and published four EPDs. These include profiles from the production sites in Gresten and Bönen for the following material groups:

The EPDs are also available on the website of the Institut "Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU)" and via the European organization ECO-Platform. Furthermore they can be found in the building materials database of the BBSR: ÖKOBAUDAT and in the IBU database (IBU.data).
