Within a few months our customer succeeded in building accommodation for 2,400 refugees. Container cities were built as a modular system, thus, offering day rooms, sleeping rooms, washing rooms and social rooms, playrooms, administration offices and course facilities. Due to the flexibility of the system in both, seize and furnishing, accommodation could be built at any location just with electricity and water supply available.
The high production capacity of our customer allowed for short delivery terms, as the containers were produced in their own European facilities. Thanks to high-quality design including high thermal insulation, production costs remained relatively low.
The required values for statics were ensured through corner columns consisting of steel profiles and longitudinal beams, both made by Welser. Besides the tight specifications with respect to pre-load and suspension, the focus was above all put on requirements for surface treatment, as the profiles were subject to immersion coating after productions to fulfil aesthetic aspects and offer the corrosion protection needed.
